I’m also excited to see where this will lead and what new opportunities may come my way as new and old clients find me online. In the coming weeks I’ll post updates about new paintings I’m working on and galleries and shows where my works will be displayed. In the meantime, you can always contact me through the Web site!
I’ve known for years that I need to have a professional Web site that I can refer people to when they ask me about my work. “You really need to have a Web site” is a phrase that I’ve heard over and over again from art galleries, art dealers, artist friends, clients, and my third grade son.
But those who know me well also know that telling me this is like telling me that I need to fix the dripping faucet in my kitchen. Yes, it’s necessary. No, nobody actually believes that I’ll do it myself. And it’s not because I don’t want to do these things. Rather, we all agree that my talents are limited to very specific applications and things like building Web sites and doing basic plumbing repairs are simply not in my skill set.
That said, thanks to foliotwist, lots of support and guidance from the “Zac and Dan” team, and my wife (whose computer and basic household repair skills far exceed my own), I finally have a Web site and I now understand what everyone was talking about. Displaying my paintings for all the world to see has been a great motivator for me. I’m excited to share my work and I’m inspired to create new pieces that will make my portfolio more extensive and compelling.
